The Life Legend Of Lucrezia Borgia eBook M G Scarsbrook
What audacity to entitle a book THE LIFE & LEGEND OF LUCREZIA BORGIA & then state throughout the book that not much is truly know of her & that she would have remained unknown if she hadn't been a member of the Borgia Family! A more proper title would have been the life & times of the Borgia Family as it, like most books on the Borgia's is mostly about Pope Alexander (The clan father Rodrigo) & Ceasere Borgia. Further the author many times uses excerpts from writers of the times of later & never translates them (most of which are in Latin). I know a number of languages, but not Latin! If you have never read a book on the Borgia's, you may enjoy the book, belter yet if you can read Latin. If you've read about the Borgia's & wanted something on Lucrezia... Don't bother!

The Life Legend Of Lucrezia Borgia eBook M G Scarsbrook Reviews
I was disappointed in this book. I thought it would read like a novel, but it doesn't. I felt I was studying for a final exam. I admired the research the author put into this book - - nothing but facts. History buffs will love this book.
mostly a historical synopsis of the life & times of those who were somehow tangential to her--.minor reference to her alleged proclivities a lesson in church & state machinations.not far removed from current activities, but not so much church.
Teaching European history at the time, I was very impressed with learning more about this family that had its hands in politics, church, and social activities of the time. I found the text easy to follow. I liked it very much with some insight to Lucrezia and her father and brothers
I did not enjoy this book. In fact, I still have not finished reading and probably won't. I prefer books that tell the history in a story format instead of just listing all the characters and relationships. I cannot keep them straight and remember one from the other. Also i like to read about what they are doing and why.
Great review of the past. Good Book. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
GOOD READ BUT A BIT SAD!!
5stars it was only 99 cents so you can't go wrong there I ordered it on my so I got it right away and I haven't read it yet so I'm not sure but I'm not complaining for 99 cents so 5 stars
I enjoy history and I think its important to say that first. This is a big read and to me it was an adventure into a time long past. Not too sure if the ordinary reader would find it to their liking as there are names and episodes that seem to go on and on. It was also an eye opening into the many characters of the Catholic Church. I also read the history of its popes.....so I know this incredible tale is true. I recommend it to that certain type of reader that wants adventure, mystery, murder, and even a bit of religious truth often hidden and for a real good reason.
