SPOILERS....I read the book in one night because I kept trying to figure out what the big secret was she was keeping from Blake. I guessed in the prologue what it could be, but was like, "no it can't be that easy". ."something" happend to make Neve the way she was, very depressed suicidal ideation...that was it???? I thought it was going to be something else. No haters please...I could not stand her witch of a mother and her mean family. I did like Blake and Robbie (they are not the gay friends) ...but even w/ those two uplifting characters, the book was just ok....Sorry, did not do it for me.Tags : Amazon.com: Not Enough eBook: Mia Hoddell, Melissa Ringsted: Kindle Store, ebook,Mia Hoddell, Melissa Ringsted,Not Enough,FICTION Romance New Adult,JUVENILE FICTION Social Issues General
Not Enough eBook Mia Hoddell Melissa Ringsted Reviews
This story was such a great idea! There are a lot of introverted people out there (myself included) who are often misunderstood as shy or anxious or even snobby. So, I loved that this topic was addressed! Another great thing about Not Enough was Blake. He was a likeable and realistic character with a lot of depth. What could have used more attention was the depth of Neve' s personality. Though i could easily relate to get emotional struggles as a misunderstood introvert, I found her difficult to like. This was because the other aspects of her personality were rarely addressed. For example, it would've been nice to delve into the creative side of her personality a bit by seeing her interact with a peer or mentor who helped her with her graphic design business, or to see her become invested in a hobby that she enjoyed, or to see her use one of her skills/positive qualities to help Blake out of a man (just as he so often used his skills/good qualities to help her out of jams). This would've helped me to see Never as not just a victim in a bad situation but as a whole person who I could relate to and admire. So, while aspects of Not Enough were amazing, the main character could have been more fully developed.
Great read!!! Cute romance
The main character was quite unlikable and judgmental. Listening to her complain at the age of 21 about having to work in fast food was ridiculous. And anyone who pulls out a kindle at a wedding deserves to have someone be rude to them.
I like this because I grew up with a mother like this and the Blake who fell in love with Neve helped her to believe she was worth more then mother that her mother would never change. She was a lot better getting on with a new life with Blake
This was a very touching read. It really hurts when people do nothing but judge you. Never being good enough. I'm so glad she had such a loving family to support her.
the story is not all bad, but the female main character is simply too weak, all the time desperate and insecure and the guy doing notthing more than reassuring her the whole book.
It didn't work for me,although some parts were ok to read.
This book was horrible!
This is the first time that I have ever written a review, but I had to say something about how terrible this book was to read!
I think thing that pisses me off the most for about Neve is how she was considered strong and brace by Blake but she never did much to show it. I was so disappointed with how much he had to do and take to 'prove' he was a good friend worth staying with. He had to do EVERYTHING for her. Hell, he even had to take the first steps in contacting the editors for HER business.
I get that her mother was was verbally and mentally abusive, but Neve expected everything to be handed to her on a silver plate. I know what it's like to be raised by a mother who wishes you were the exact opposite of who you are. My mother a self proclaimed outing going diva, who was/is upset that her only daughter happens to be a book loving Tomboy who loves nothing more than to sit quietly reading a new book. However, instead of conecting with the character I found myself disgusted by her internal thoughts and behavior. What makes her to good to work in fast food? I get that she was working towards her own business, but for most people that includes working. I worked two part time jobs during college to ensure that I wouldn't have to take out any student loans, and guess what- one of them was at a fast food restaurant. Did I hate it? Absolutely. Did I blame my parents for not paving my way completely so I wouldn't have to know what it was like to really sacrifice to get what I wanted in life? Hell no!
I could go on and on about what a whinny brat Neve came across as, but I've already wasted to much of my time on this story.
